This past weekend I got to travel to Daytona Beach to visit my grandparents and see my sister, Emily, perform at her cheer leading competition.
She is amazing!
I have four sisters and one brother and on this particular trip I was able to spend the weekend with three of my sisters, my mom and Dillon. My sister and her team did an outstanding job and placed 2nd overall. In between cheering we were able to go kayaking on St. Johns River. It was beautiful and an amazing breath of fresh air.
Many of us have gotten back into our routine, our craziness of school, work and trying to keep up with the glorification of business. I saw this saying this past week:
Stop the glorification of busy.
How true is this? Our society has created this sense of needing to be going and doing. I understand certain things need to be taken care of and commitments need to be kept but what if we changed our priorities and took time to enjoy and to see God’s beauty. Often times we are so busy and thinking about the next thing we miss seeing God in the moment we are in. God is present which means He is here now. Have you looked for Him?
Kayaking this weekend reminded me of His roaring beauty. Dillon loves the outdoors and teaches me so much. This trip I was introduced to Mangroves – interesting trees with many branches growing to the ground.
And we got to see jellyfish!
God has individually designed each and every part of creation, that means us too! His beauty and glory shine brightly through everything. We just have to open our eyes and see. It seems we have to adjust our perspective. Something we will have to work on every day. A habit we have to create, to see His beauty and to experience His joy.
Can you see it?
The blessing of time with Him, time with family, being able to enjoy kayaking, seeing new trees and fish. Its all in front of us. Each situation unique.
My handsome gondolier!
Two of my four sisters, Boo and Tori, enjoying the beautiful day with us! They are silly and have beautiful laughs.
My blessed moment: D paddles the whole time! He lets me soak it all up, no paddling, I take pictures and enjoy every moment to the fullest!
Ask God to help you see Him in every situation. Take time, take a break, to enjoy what He has blessed you with. Family, friends, creation and everything in between.
Where do you see His beauty?
